Egypt’s education system has been one of the country’s key challenges for decades, if not the most pressing one. And despite the many initiatives by the different governments over the past years, there have been hardly any tangible improvements in the education system, but on the contrary, it has been deteriorating over time

As Internet access and use of personal computers and smart devices have become more available and affordable in Egypt in the recent years, new innovations in online and technology based education platforms have started to emerge. Such platforms and tools aim to improve the quality of education by developing more innovative learning approaches that encourage students to master skills such as problem solving, communication and creativity

This seminar will shed light on some of the eLearning experiences in Egypt, and discuss key challenges facing the adoption of technology in education on a large scale. It will also attempt to assess the impact of eLearning on the future of education in Egypt, and make suggestions on what needs to be done to further increase the scale and impact of Egypt’s eLearning initiatives
